SalesManager Mobile Solutions finalist Dutch National R&D Awards



SalesManager Software has been nominated for the Dutch National IT Awards for Research & Development innovation. Our development environment for the Pocket PC Windows Mobile platform, the SMS Mobile RAD FrameWork, was one of the finalists for this prestigious award.

Short description of the new product, service or application

The SalesManager Mobile Solutions (SMS) Mobile Rapid Application Development (RAD) FrameWork is a development environment that enables quick and efficient building of applications for the Microsoft Windows Mobile platform.

Vision behind the new product, service or application

There is a shortage of tools to build Enterprise Mobile solutions. It is almost impossible to develop Windows Mobile applications without a thorough knowledge of C++ or Visual Basic. An environment such as the SMS Mobile RAD FrameWork would enable businesses to design and manage mobile applications by themselves.

Reason why the new product, service or application is innovative

The SMS Mobile RAD FrameWork offers the possibility to quickly and efficiently build applications through an interactive GUI. The Data Model, the windows, the Business logics; it’s all easy to manage. On top of that, there are about 1.000 applications in the Repository that can be used to develop mobile Business Information Systems.

Application possibilities of the new product, service or application

Several application possibilities have already been realized, such as Mobile CRM, Mobile Service Management and Mobile Order Entry. Applications such as Mobile Time Registration, Mobile Project Management and Mobile Inspection are set to be released in the near future.

What steps are being taken to make this new product, service or application successful?

The marketing campaign ‘Go Mobile’ has been launched to promote this environment. We have formed a partnership with KPN (the Dutch telecom company), HP and Vodafone as well to drive attention to mobile solutions in general. Finally, our taking part in several expos supports the Go Mobile campaign too.
